RETREAT TO LOVE Reader Reviews

Coming of age and coming to grips with love, family, and career may seem like a lot to cover in one novel, but Melanie Greene manages to do just that with a sharp and cleverly entertaining writing style that is a joy to read. Ashlyn May is a fiber artist on retreat in an effort to rekindle her creativity, and finds more than she bargained for amongst her fellow artists, including an unexpected jolt to her own family dynamics. The character development is strong as these strangers learn to trust themselves and each other during the retreat, and Ashlyn learns that her whole concept of who she is can be expanded without being destroyed.
I loved this book. The intertwining story lines are both so good and so different, that it's like getting two great books in one. I especially love how the author brought the stories together. You'll definitely find yourself rooting for the characters and their beautiful love story.
I found the characters in this book to be people I would want to know and befriend! And it has a sweet message about love and being yourself and trusting that you will be loved for who you are.
Plot was good, lots of unexpected events and the characters were interesting. A light, easy to pick up romance that made me want to work on some art projects.
Like the kind of gorgeous, intricate quilts protagonist Ashlyn May creates, this book is a collection of splendid elements--romance, atmosphere, snazzy dialogue, deep feeling, family history--expertly stitched together by author Melanie Greene. You'll want to retreat to the soulful FireWind artists' retreat with Ashlyn and beau Caleb, and go forward with their special story to the emotional ending. This is contemporary romance with an artistic twist. Go, Greene!
