ROCKET MAN Reader Reviews

The greatest strength of this story, and of this author, I think, is the amazing character development- each and every character is multi-dimensional and very real to the reader, and you feel right at home with old friends when reading the dialogue between characters.
Rocket Man by debut author Melanie Greene hits all the right spots. At times, it made me chuckle, grab a hankie, sigh happily and squirm in my seat! Her characters are true to life and each lends to the overall quirkiness of Ms. Greene’s writing style.
LOL - I am still laughing at a lot of things in this book. The writing just moved along.
Modern love - it is a complicated thing. Serena and Dillon negotiate some pretty dicey rapids in their path toward love, but it is all worth it in the end.
Melanie Greene is a sure-fire writer of love, fun, and chaos - and it all comes flying at the reader with a welcome kind of charm. Her cast of characters offer many different personalities with stories only hinted at that you'll look forward to seeing in later novels in the Roll of the Dice series. You'll be so happy you found this writer!
Fun characters, engaging dialogue- that feels real- and good friendships!
I have to give Melanie Greene props- the book has great dialogue, is well written, and is very funny. The characters are extremely likeable, though human, and well-developed. Definitely going to buy books by this author in the future!
My two favorite things about this book are 1) Serena doesn't give into her attraction to Dillon for quite awhile. The romantic tension is there, but she has real goals and doubts that make her hesitant to get involved. So it's all the more satisfying when she finally follows her heart. 2) Dillon is not an uber-rich, uber-confident Alpha male. He's strong, but young man who like a girl a lot and struggles to figure out how to make and keep a connection with her.
